چکیده
Introduction Bipolar disorder (BD) is a chronic mental characterized by mood instability 1 . BD further related to neurocognitive and functional disruptions that remain remarkably stable even when patients are euthymic, leading poor well-being quality of life. Mindfulness means paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, involves different facets such as observing, describing, acting with awareness, non-judging non-reacting inner experience. It remains unclear whether mindfulness its specific differentially associated aspects trait impulsivity individuals BD. Objectives To examine associations between facets, Methods This study was approved Hospital Clínic Ethics Research Board (HCB/2017/0432). After informed consent, 94 outpatients, M age = 45.57, SD 9.8, range 19-61 years, 41.5% Male, 63.8% BD-I according DSM-5 criteria, partial or total remission based Young Mania Rating Scale (YMRS; 1.81, 2.11) Hamilton Depression (HDRS; 5.46, 3.71) were enrolled this study. Participants evaluated using Five Facet Questionnaire (FFMQ) assess Mindfulness, Trail Making Test (TMT-A) Conner’s Continuous Performance test (CPT-II) Attention, Barratt Impulsiveness (BIS-11) Impulsivity. Pearson correlations performed, statistical significance two-sided at 5% threshold. Results Mindfulness-Describing negatively Cognitive Non-Planning Impulsivity ( r -.43 -.28, p < .001), Mindfulness-Acting Awareness Cognitive, Motor -.27 -.45, Non-Judging -.33 -.34, .001) Non-Reacting -.30 -.46, experience No found neither nor any Attention. Conclusions Preliminary findings suggest better performance (describing, reacting experience) may be decrease impulsivity. Further longitudinal interventional research needed underlying mechanisms. Nonetheless, our suggests need for including mindfulness-based approaches improve behavioral outcomes those Funding work supported European Union Horizon 2020 innovation program (EU.3.1.3. متن کاملAssociation between GSK3β gene and increased impulsivity in bipolar disorder.
Bipolar patients present increased levels of impulsivity even during remission periods. It is known that this dimensional trait negatively impacts on the course of illness and worsens their prognosis and outcome. Evidence from both basic and clinical researches supports that Lithium (Li) may decrease impulsivity. Owing to the fact that Li inhibits both glycogen synthetase kinase-3 (GSK3) isoenz...
